Project Resident Engineer
Job Summary
Roughan & ODonovan (ROD) is looking to recruit an experienced project resident engineer for an 18-month contract position in the north Cork area.

You will manage and supervise the site supervision team responsible for the delivery of several bridge construction and local road diversion projects in county Cork.
The role will involve overseeing day-to-day site operations and ensuring compliance with contract specifications health and safety requirements quality standards and environmental regulations in a live railway environment.
Assist the employers representative in the performance of his/her duties
Administer the public works contract for civil engineering works designed by the employer (PW-CF3)
Manage the site-based team delegate tasks and monitor the execution of the works in accordance with the contract requirements
Review the contractors submissions including method statements temporary traffic management plans and environmental management plans
Review technical queries and liaise with the design team onany design-related matters
Liaise with stakeholders and utility providers
Establish procedures and systems for quality control accurate record-keeping and claims management
A degree in engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
At least 15 years postgraduate experience in the supervision of major civil engineering works including:
a minimum of ten years experience in civil engineering works and a minimum of seven years combined experience in the role of project/senior resident engineer or equivalent on civil engineering projects including:
civil infrastructure projects (rail/roads) including at least one with a construction value in excess of 15.0 million (exclusive of VAT)
bridge projects including at least one individual bridge structure with a construction value in excess of 0.5 million (exclusive of VAT)
Have undertaken the role of project/senior resident engineer or equivalent on civil infrastructure projects constructed under the Public Works Contract (PW-CF3)
Experience in the supervision of works in a railway environment
Experience in administering the public works forms of contract
Chartered engineer status (CEng MIEI or equivalent)
Personal Track Safety training
Knowledge and experience of the Iarnród Eireann Project Management Procedures (PMP)
Knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation and regulations
Experience of dispute management procedures under civil engineering construction contracts
Experience in the assessment and approval or otherwise of value engineering proposals
