Job Summary

Perform Recruitment is hiring for a well-established and fast-growing food manufacturing business based in Co. Cavan. This business has built a strong reputation for quality and innovation in the food sector and their New Product Development team is expanding as they invest further in new product ranges. As part of this growth theyre now looking to add a talented Product Development Technologist to the team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the full journey of bringing a food product to life from the very first idea through recipe development and testing right through to a successful product launch on shelf.

The Role

Youll join the NPD team and play a hands-on role in developing new and innovative food products working closely with colleagues across Production Technical and customer-facing teams to make sure every project runs smoothly from concept to completion.

Your day-to-day could include:

  • Helping shape new products from initial idea through to launch
  • Building and updating recipes specifications and product documentation
  • Contributing to customer briefs tastings and product presentations
  • Sourcing and evaluating new ingredients and raw materials
  • Owning individual NPD projects and keeping them on track against timelines
  • Coordinating with Production and Technical to ensure successful on-time launches
  • Supporting ongoing improvements and redevelopment of the existing product range
  • Keeping an eye on food trends customer requirements and new opportunities in the market

As you settle into the role and build experience youll take on greater ownership of projects customer accounts and product categories with plenty of scope to grow your responsibilities over time.

What Were Looking For

  • A degree in Food Science Food Technology or a related discipline or equivalent hands-on industry experience
  • Some background in NPD product development or food technology within a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to recipe and spec work
  • A genuine interest in food innovation new product trends and solving practical development challenges
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to work closely with both internal teams and customers
