Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives Irelands dairy processors and in turn Irish dairy farmers.

Ornua has revenues of 3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2800 employees. The Groupoperatesas a commercial organisation across 10 business units including 12 production facilitieslocatedin Europe North America the MiddleEastand Africa.

The commercial organisationis responsible forthe marketing and sales ofOrnuasconsumer brands including Irelands most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in IrelandGermanyand the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia Germany Ireland MEA Poland Spain rest of Europe and North and Latin America.

It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe North America the MiddleEastand Africa.

Job Summary:

The Member Relations & Planning teamis responsible forthe demand planning supplyplanningand procurement of all dairy products for onward sale by the OrnuaCommercialDivision serviced from Ornua headquarters.

TheMember Relations& Planning sections goal is to support our businesses to meet customers needs through developing strong knowledge-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders. We aim to maximize value through efficient forecasting planningpurchasing and business processes.

ThisProcurementCategoryCoordinatorrolewillmanage and supportthe purchasing of dairy products (butter & milk powders) from our suppliers (the Irish Dairy Processors) and the planning of supply & demand within our business.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Purchasingofrelevant powdercategories:

  1. Tomanage thecommercial purchasingprocess forrelevant powderswith members.

  1. Define ingredient sales availability (monthly) forrelevant powdersand provide input to commercial strategy sales & pricing tactics with sales teams to maximize member returns & Ornuaprofitability andensure volume targets are achieved and risks managed.

  1. Manage planning to ensure stable supply and relevant pricingfor key customers

  1. Key link between Ornua ingredient sales teams and members; providingregular market customer & commercialinsightsand updates and attend regular member meetings and attend customer meetings as necessary with sales teams.

  1. Negotiate back-to-back purchases with members forpowder.

  1. Putting in placemonthly production plans in line withOrnuasoverall forecasting process.

  1. Regular communication with finance teams onpowder inputto the monthly PLsettlementsandforwardbook processes.

  1. Measurereportand follow-up onproduction vs forecasted monthly production forecast. Highlighting surpluses and deficits and amending forward schedules as appropriate.

  1. A key stakeholder in the overall OrnuaS&OPprocess. Take part in the monthly forecast cycle to ensure product is planned andpurchasedin line with best information at hand fromdemand planning andsalesteamsadvise of risks andidentifyactions to mitigate impact on customer orders.

  1. Toensure that offlinepowderis managed and updatedon a monthly basis with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency.

  1. To provide support associated with the purchaseand managementofdairyproducts including the raisingcommunicatingandmaintainingof relevant purchase ordersstock reclassificationsmaintainingrelevantmanagement information records and preparinganalysis andreports asrequired(Rabo).

stock management:

  1. Analysemonthly stock reconciliation and availability status for allrelevant powdersin conjunction withpartner recommendations based onsame.

  1. To manage OrnuaIngredients stockin line with best practice.

  1. Ensure stock is reserved whereappropriate highlight where stock should be shipped on a FIFO basis and ensure that problem / aged stock isidentifiedand managed asappropriate.

  1. Ensure Ornua achieve monthly and year end closing stock targets for relevant categories.
