Our client operates a portfolio of thermal power generation stations in the Dublin area supplying critical capacity to Irelands national electricity network. Operating within a competitive commercial generation and trading market the business is held to strict efficiency availability and safety standards and plays a central role in national energy security. The organisation has committed to a net zero pathway by 2040 and continues to invest significantly in its generation assets and its people.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an ambitious technically capable individual to join a shift operations team responsible for the safe efficient and compliant running of a critical power generation asset. Working within a results-focused environment the successful candidate will gain direct exposure to plant operations maintenance and outage support with genuine scope to develop technical and operational expertise over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plant equipment to ensure safe efficient and compliant running of the station including testing and condition assessment across shift cycles
- Maintain the plant in line with safety environmental commercial and chemical standards and comply fully with all safety and environmental obligations
- Support the shift operations teams day-to-day activities maintaining accurate shift records and reporting to the Shift Team Leader and/or Operations Manager
- Contribute to the development and implementation of plant operating procedures testing protocols and related systems
- Carry out front-line troubleshooting fault-finding and outage maintenance support as required
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years process or operations experience within an industrial utilities or manufacturing environment
- Ability to analyse interpret and respond to plant operational data and conditions
- Flexibility to work shift patterns including availability for shift cover
Desirable
- Full Category B driving licence
- Craft qualification in Control & Instrumentation Electrical or Mechanical Fitting and/or relevant CSCS tickets
- Working knowledge of health safety and environmental legislation including Safe System of Work principles
- Experience supervising or coordinating contractors
- Experience using maintenance or operations management systems
