Job Summary

Egis is seeking an experienced NEC Accredited Project Manager to work within Egis Transportations PMCM team and lead on business development bid production and project delivery in conjunction with line management responsibilities.

The Associate Director is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex projects and programmes providing strategic client leadership commercial oversight and operational management. The role combines project delivery excellence with business development team leadership and contribution to the growth and profitability of the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and new client accounts.
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives and market expansion activities.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events and professional forums.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a senior point of contact for key clients and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships to secure repeat business.
  • Provide strategic advice and trusted consultancy services to clients.
  • Lead client meetings steering groups and executive-level presentations.

Tender Leadership & Governance

  • Act as Egis Bid Manager for various tenders with responsibility for the planning coordination governance and timely delivery of all Egis tender inputs.
  • Establish and manage the bid execution plan including scope definition responsibilities approvals programme and internal/external interfaces.
  • Ensure full compliance with client requirements ITT documentation evaluation criteria and Irish statutory and regulatory obligations.

Programme Commercial & Risk Management

  • Lead the delivery of major complex or high-profile projects from inception through to completion.
  • Develop and implement project execution strategies aligned with client objectives.
  • Oversee project governance risk management programme control and reporting.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely on time within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide senior-level problem solving and decision making throughout the project lifecycle.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and emerging leaders.
  • Support recruitment succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Promote best practice innovation and continuous improvement across the business.

Qualifications :

  • Degree in Engineering Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Engineering Business Project Management or similar is desirable.
  • Chartered status or professional accreditation (e.g. RICS APM CIOB ICE PMP) desirable.
  • Project Management certification (e.g. NEC PMP) advantageous.

Essential experience and key competencies:

  • Proven experience as Project Director Design Director or Senior Project Manager on major transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent team management skills in complex multidisciplinary environment
  • Demonstrated leadership of tender and delivery stages for Design & Build projects
  • Experience working within regulated environments and familiarity with Irish or UK rail/highways standards is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capability in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management communication and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance risk quality cost and programme.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on delivery-focused mindset.

Desirable:

  • Able to build enduring client relationships that foster trust and long-term value
  • Experience transitioning from bid leadership into live project delivery.
  • Able to identify portfolio growth opportunities and cross-service expansion
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the UK and Ireland.
