Responsibilities
Deliver an efficient and patient-centred ward Physiotherapy service based on thorough assessment of individual needs.
Ensure the highest quality of care by implementing and adhering to operational procedures aligned with best practice standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new developments clinical skills and technologies within the hospital setting to ensure ongoing professional competence.
Work flexible hours as determined by the Physiotherapy Manager in accordance with service requirements.
Foster positive interdisciplinary relationships through open and effective communication with medical and Allied Health professionals.
Actively participate in and contribute to in-service education and training programmes.
Engage in continuous professional development research initiatives and evidence-based practice relevant to the role.
Maintain accurate clinical records statistics and documentation in line with organisational professional and legal requirements including reporting of work-related incidents.
Support senior staff in reviewing and updating Cardio-Respiratory and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy policies and protocol documents.
Participate in on-call standby and weekend rotas when required while demonstrating professionalism punctuality and commitment to team development.
Requirements
Hold a recognised Degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent qualification) and maintain membership with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Possess a minimum of one years clinical experience in an acute hospital setting (desirable).
Demonstrate strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills including completing comprehensive subjective assessments identifying patient needs and treatment precautions selecting appropriate interventions and recognising professional limitations while seeking senior or multidisciplinary support when required.
Maintain accurate timely and compliant documentation by adhering to departmental templates and protocols collecting and recording clinical data precisely maintaining electronic statistics and providing progress reports to the primary referral source.
Appropriately apply post-operative and departmental protocols while continuously developing knowledge of assessment tools and evidence-based practice.
