Job Summary

Kanadevia Inova is seeking an experienced and safety-focused O&M Mechanical Technician for our Dublin Waste to Energy Facility located on the Poolbeg peninsula in Dublin Ireland.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will play a key role in ensuring the safe reliable and efficient operation of plant equipment within a complex industrial environment. Working as part of a high-performing maintenance team you will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities diagnose faults support plant outages and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that maximise plant availability and performance. 

Key Responsibilities 

Please note that the following responsibilities represent a non-exhaustive list of duties. Additional tasks may be assigned based on operational and business requirements. 

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and process systems. 

  • Diagnose mechanical faults undertake repairs and implement corrective actions to minimise plant downtime. 

  • Inspect lubricate and adjust equipment to ensure safe reliable and efficient operation. 

  • Support outage planning and execution activities working closely with operations and maintenance teams. 

  • Promote and maintain high standards of health safety and environmental compliance including participation in inspections risk assessments audits and safety initiatives. 


Qualifications :

  • Mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy process or industrial environment and experience working on conveyors gearboxes steam-raising plant rotating equipment valves and hydraulic systems. 

  • Skilled in fault diagnosis root cause analysis and mechanical problem resolution and experience supporting plant shutdowns outages and major maintenance activities. 

  • Knowledge of maintenance systems spares management and technical documentation control. 

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (essential) Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline. 

  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (desirable) and a HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (desirable). 

  • Additional plant maintenance or safety-related certifications would be advantageous.
