Job Summary


RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for domestic and overseas candidates across hospitals nursing homes home care and community care.

We are hiring an Occupational Therapist for a hospital in Galway Ireland.

Permanent Part-Time Position 33 Hours per Week

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Uphold the principle that patient care always comes first approaching all duties with flexibility enthusiasm and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care.

  • Maintain awareness throughout the hospital of the primacy of the patient in relation to all hospital activities.

  • Be responsible for the assessment planning implementation and review of appropriate treatment and intervention programmes for patients in accordance with service standards.

  • Communicate assessment findings treatment/intervention programmes outcomes and recommendations verbally and/or in writing to the multidisciplinary team and other relevant personnel as required.

  • Attend and actively participate in ward rounds multidisciplinary team meetings case conferences clinics and other relevant meetings as designated by the Senior Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Manager.


Requirements
  • Be registered with the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.

  • Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge of Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment for acute and elderly patients with medical surgical and cardiac conditions using evidence-based practice.

  • Demonstrate experience working in an acute hospital setting particularly with patients presenting with physical health conditions.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of current Occupational Therapy models of practice and experience implementing appropriate treatment and intervention programmes.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in complex discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

  • Have the requisite knowledge skills and ability including a high standard of suitability and professional ability to properly perform the duties of the role.

    Required Education:

    Hold first-level nursing registration. Be registered on the appropriate division of the NMBI live register.
