We are currently seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join a leading Nursing home in Cork Ireland.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage an independent caseload delivering comprehensive occupational therapy assessments treatment planning interventions and evaluations in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Conduct specialised assessments including functional cognitive seating hand and environmental assessments while recommending appropriate equipment and adaptations.
  • Collaborate with patients families carers and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement person-centred treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and facilitate smooth transitions of care by liaising with relevant healthcare services and community providers.
  • Maintain accurate timely and comprehensive clinical documentation including assessments treatment plans progress notes reports and discharge summaries.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues managers and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to service planning development quality improvement initiatives clinical audits research and the implementation of evidence-based occupational therapy practice.
  • Communicate assessment findings intervention outcomes and recommendations effectively through both written reports and verbal presentations to patients families and healthcare teams.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings ward rounds case conferences and service reviews while managing workload efficiently in accordance with organisational policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards confidentiality ethical practice relevant legislation and the codes of conduct established by CORU and Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland while practising within the scope of Occupational Therapy in Ireland.



Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc or MSc) with qualification validation required for candidates who qualified outside the Republic of Ireland.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Current registration with CORU.
  • Full valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Ireland.
