National Neonatal Transport (NNTP) Coordinator Assistant Director of Midwifery/Nursing (ADOM/N) Band 1

We are seeking an experienced and motivated midwifery/nursing leader to join our team as National Neonatal Transport Coordinator Assistant Director of Midwifery/Nursing (ADOM/N)

The National Neonatal Transport Programme is Irelands national neonatal retrieval service operating 24 hours a day across the National Maternity Hospital the Rotunda and the Coombe in partnership with the National Ambulance Service under an agreed service level agreement. The NNTP retrieves critically ill newborns from birth to four weeks corrected gestational age from hospitals throughout the country returns them to their regional centres when tertiary care is no longer required and supports out-of-jurisdiction transfers for infants requiring care not available in Ireland.

The NNTP Coordinator is the operational lead for the service. Working with the Clinical Lead NNTP the NNTP Clinical Nurse Specialists the three host hospitals and NAS-CCRS the post holder will oversee the operational running of the programme across the three sites including equipment consumables and resources support service development in line with the agreed model of care and contribute to audit quality improvement and the development of national policy and standards for neonatal retrieval.

Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/or Experience

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

• Are registered or be eligible for registration in the General Division the Midwives Division or the Childrens Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives as maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland NMBI (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann)
• Have 8 years post registration nursing and midwifery experience including 5 years clinical experience as appropriate to the setting at Clinical Nurse / Midwife Manager 2 or above
• Candidates must possess a relevant post graduate qualification in Neonatal Nursing at level 9 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)
• Candidates must demonstrate substantial experience in neonatal intensive care neonatal retrieval and transport services.
• Candidates must possess the requisite clinical leadership managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office

Annual registration:

(i) On appointment practitioners must maintain live annual registration in the Nurses & Midwives Division of the Register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland NMBI (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann)

(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to the HSE by way of the Annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC)
