Meet the team
The Video Product team is responsible for how content is discovered experienced and consumed across RTÉ Player. Combining product editorial metadata personalisation and content operations expertise the team ensures audiences can easily find and enjoy the content most relevant to them across mobile web connected TV and emerging platform partners.
Reporting to the Video Product Manager the Multimedia Co-ordinator (Content Discovery) will play a key role in helping audiences discover and engage with content across RTÉ Players growing catalogue. Working across content operations editorial metadata product and audience experience this role will support the delivery of a more personalised discoverable and engaging streaming service.
The successful candidate will help shape how content is presented surfaced and experienced across RTÉ Player as the platform expands its catalogue launches on new platforms and introduces new discovery metadata and personalisation capabilities.
About the role
- Support the delivery of RTÉ Players discovery and content experience strategy across an expanding content catalogue.
- Act as the primary owner of metadata quality and discovery experience for key content genres including drama soaps boxsets and long-tail catalogue content.
- Work with Curators Product and Editorial teams to ensure content is surfaced effectively through collections recommendations rails and promotional placements.
- Identify opportunities to improve content discovery through enhanced metadata imagery tagging editorial collections and presentation.
- Support RTÉ Players metadata enhancement programme helping maximise the value of enriched metadata personalisation and recommendation capabilities.
- Develop and maintain discovery journeys for key content categories including drama soaps boxsets archive content and seasonal collections.
- Coordinate the preparation and publishing of content imagery and editorial assets across RTÉ Player and third-party platforms.
- Support the introduction of new content workflows processes and discovery tools as part of RTÉ Players discovery evolution.
- Collaborate with the Discovery Lead Curators and Design teams to improve content navigation browse experiences content hubs and promotional journeys.
- Manage and optimise the presentation of key content collections and franchises to maximise audience engagement and catalogue utilisation.
- Work with Scheduling Content Planning and Curators to ensure content is ready for publication promotion and discovery through optimisation.
- Support publishing requirements for new platform partners including connected TV platforms Virgin Media Amazon and future distribution channels.
- Use audience insights analytics and performance data to identify opportunities to improve engagement discovery and content consumption.
- Champion continuous improvement in content operations metadata usage content presentation and discovery best practice.
About you
- Relevant experience in content operations editorial streaming digital publishing audience development or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in content discovery recommendation strategies and audience engagement.
- Experience working with content management systems publishing platforms or media workflows.
- Understanding of how metadata imagery and editorial presentation contribute to content discovery and personalisation.
- Strong editorial judgement and an appreciation of how audiences browse and choose content.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrable attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Comfortable working with analytics and audience insights to inform decisions.
- Passion for television streaming and digital media products.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a streaming VOD or media environment.
- An interest in drama soaps boxsets or entertainment content.
- Familiarity with metadata providers and standards such as Gracenote and EIDR.
- An interest in recommendation systems personalisation and content discovery principles.
- Experience working with image editing and creative asset tools.
- Understanding of connected TV platforms and streaming user experiences.

Appointments will be madeon a fixed term full-time contract for a duration of 2 years. The salary rangeis on the Multimedia Co-ordinator salary scale from 47769 to 62080 gross pa.
