Motorway Maintenance Operative

The hands-on implementation of the day-to-day Project Road maintenance requirements.

To provide call-out cover to out-of-office hours emergency responses on a rostered basis including night work.

To carry out routine maintenance activities including:

• Landscaping / Grass cutting
• Road Furniture cleaning
• Traffic Management
• Routine patrols & inspections of the road network
• Incident response
• Winter Maintenance
• Litter collection
• General maintenance duties
• Fencing repairs
• Small civil works including concrete repairs ducting etc.
• Keep accurate records of tasks completed
• Complete training as required

To undertake all allocated maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications :

Essential:

• 2nd level education
• Class C drivers licence
• Valid Safe Pass holder
• Relevant experience with a background in Maintenance.
• Evidence of practical experience in one or more of the routine maintenance activities listed above
• An understanding of and commitment to health and safety practices and principles

Desirable:

Up-to-date training/qualifications in:

• Traffic Management
• H&S Related training - First Aid Fire Warden Manual Handling. Safety Rep.
• Other complementary work-related training courses/qualifications
• Experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of the standard methods equipment materials tools and practices used in performing the road maintenance activities

Licence/Certification:

• C Licence (preferred)
