The Vet Office is recruiting a Lead Veterinary Surgeon for a modern well-established small animal practice in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon ready to step into a leadership role while continuing to develop clinically within a supportive and progressive environment.

Youll lead a dedicated veterinary team drive high clinical standards and play a key role in the continued success and growth of the practice.

The Role

As Lead Veterinary Surgeon you will:

  • Lead mentor and inspire the veterinary team.
  • Foster a positive collaborative and supportive working culture.
  • Deliver exceptional standards of patient and client care.
  • Maintain clinical excellence and ensure best practice standards.
  • Work closely with the Head Veterinary Nurse to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Support the operational and financial performance of the practice.
  • Monitor KPIs and contribute to the growth of the clinic.
  • Promote preventative healthcare and client education.
  • Ensure compliance with Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) regulations.
About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • MVB DVM or an equivalent Veterinary Degree.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
  • At least 3 years experience in small animal practice.
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills.
  • Excellent leadership communication and organisational abilities.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing veterinary professionals.
  • Previous leadership experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in practice performance.
