About Irish Film Institute
The Irish Film Institute is Irelands national cultural institution for film. At the IFIs historic home in Eustace Street Temple Bar our diverse audiences and loyal members enjoy our 3 cinemas IFI Irish Film Archives research and access facilities IFI Film Shop and IFI Café Bar; and our four digital streaming platforms IFI Player and IFI International.
The IFI has developed strategic objectives around three core activities:
EXHIBIT - Providing audiences throughout Ireland with access to the finest independent Irish and international cinema
PRESERVE - Preserving and promoting Irelands moving image heritage through the IFI Irish Film Archive
EDUCATE - Providing opportunities for audiences of all ages and backgrounds to learn and critically engage with film through IFI Education
Purpose of job: To provide assistance to Chefs and to maintain the kitchen area
Reporting to: Head Chef
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Cleaning
Washing crockery cutlery and utensils to a standard that are fit for use in food preparation and consumption
Operation of the dishwasher
Ensuring the kitchen floor is clean dry and tidy.
Ensure that all work surfaces are clean and are fit for use in food preparation.
Cleaning of equipment cookers ovens fryers etc.
Ensure that the kitchen is free from obstruction
Food Preparation
Sundry food preparation as may be required as directed by the Chefs
Food Deliveries
On occasion check food deliveries.
Put away food and kitchen supplies in the relevant storage places.
End of Shift
Switching off equipment and gas.
Health and Safety
Ensure that all tasks are carried out in a safe and hygienic manner and to the highest standards of health and safety.
Ensure that you observe the highest standards of personal hygiene and that you are appropriately presented and dressed and that proper footwear is worn
Other
Any other relevant tasks

Experience in a busy working environment

This role is offered as a two-year fixed term casual contract.
