Job Summary

The Junior Plastic Fabricator is responsible for assisting in the manufacture assembly and finishing of high-quality plastic products. Working as part of the fabrication team the successful candidate will learn and apply a range of plastic fabrication techniques operate workshop machinery and hand tools and contribute to the production of custom plastic components and assemblies. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop a career in plastic fabrication within a specialist manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the fabrication assembly and finishing of plastic products in line with drawings and specifications.
  • Operate a range of workshop machinery and hand tools safely including saws routers drills and sanders.
  • Measure cut shape drill route and deburr plastic materials to required dimensions.
  • Read and interpret basic technical drawings work instructions and production specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on components and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain a clean safe and organised work area while adhering to all health and safety procedures.
  • Support senior fabricators with fabrication projects while developing skills across a range of plastic fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and actively participate in training and development opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing fabrication engineering construction or a similar hands-on environment is desirable but not essential.
  • An interest in learning plastic fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Commitment to quality safety and continuous improvement.
  • Good numerical skills and ability to read measurements accurately.
  • Ability to follow instructions and interpret basic drawings.
