Job Summary

The Department/Team

The Dublin Corporate & Regulatory Insurance team advises insurers reinsurers intermediaries financial institutions investors and other market participants on a broad range of corporate regulatory transactional and advisory matters.

Working closely with colleagues across our international insurance network the team supports clients on complex domestic and cross-border matters including regulatory compliance governance restructurings insurance sector transactions distribution and outsourcing arrangements risk management M&A and crisis response matters. The team combines deep sector knowledge with commercial pragmatism to help clients navigate an increasingly complex regulatory and business environment.

Youll play a vital role in delivering outstanding results for our clients while developing your expertise within a firm that is widely recognised as one of the leading insurance specialist advisers globally; and with a highly regarded Corporate & Regulatory Insurance team.

Hybrid working arrangements may be available depending on the needs of individual teams or departments. This can be explored further during the interview process.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to join a growing team specialising in corporate and regulatory insurance matters. Working closely with partners and senior lawyers you will advise leading insurers reinsurers intermediaries and other financial services clients on a broad range of regulatory advisory and transactional matters many of which have international elements. The role offers excellent client exposure responsibility and opportunities for professional development within a creative collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Among other matters the successful applicant will:

  • Assist in advising insurers reinsurers intermediaries and other financial services clients on corporate and regulatory matters.
  • Support partners and senior lawyers on complex projects transactions and strategic mandates.
  • Draft and review transactional regulatory and corporate documentation.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research and provide clear practical advice to clients.
  • Assist with regulatory applications authorisations and ongoing compliance requirements.
  • Support clients on governance risk management and operational framework matters.
  • Advise on outsourcing distribution data technology transformation and business change projects.
  • Assist with M&A transactions portfolio transfers and corporate reorganisations.
  • Support clients on ESG and sustainability.
  • Develop expertise in novel and evolving issues impacting the (re)insurance sector.
  • Prepare client updates regulatory briefings and training materials.
  • Participate in client meetings embed in client relationships and maintain regular contact with key stakeholders.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients regulators and colleagues across the firms international network.
  • Contribute to business development activities thought leadership and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate matter management and comply with internal risk and client protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Insurance and Financial Services practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

Were looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified solicitor in Ireland.
  • Has between 1-5 years post-qualification experience ideally gained within insurance financial services regulation corporate commercial or transactional practice.
  • Has experience advising regulated entities or a strong interest in the insurance and reinsurance sector.
  • Possesses excellent drafting analytical and legal research skills.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and sound commercial judgement.
  • Can manage multiple matters effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach and enthusiasm for developing technical expertise.
  • Builds effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Has strong commercial awareness and an interest in the insurance and financial services markets.
  • Enjoys working within a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Wishes to develop their leadership potential.
  • Experience of cross-border matters would be advantageous but is not essential.
