The SMB Ads Marketing team is building this opportunity from the ground up. We define how businesses discover OpenAIs advertising platform become successful advertisers and grow their investment over time. Working closely with Product Ads Engineering Data Science and Sales we combine customer insight rigorous experimentation and fast execution to turn early opportunities into scalable growth.

About the Role

We are hiring an International Marketing Lead SMB Ads reporting to the Head of SMB Ads Marketing to build and scale OpenAIs SMB Ads business outside the United States. You will own SMB business targets across international markets and lead the team and cross-functional plans that deliver advertiser acquisition activation retention and revenue growth.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role at the intersection of product marketing growth marketing demand generation lifecycle marketing partnerships and sales enablement. You will directly manage the international SMB Ads marketing team and lead its work within a global matrix: set country priorities and resource choices translate global strategy and capabilities into regional and local execution and bring local insight back to shape global plans.

In this role you will:

• Own international advertiser and revenue targets. Translate them into country plans spanning acquisition activation retention expansion and advocacy.

• Prioritize countries based on market potential product readiness channel economics and regulatory and operational requirements. Balance global consistency with local relevance.

• Launch locally relevant go-to-market programs with regional marketing sales and partnership leaders across positioning demand generation lifecycle education offers and conversion.

• Improve the international advertiser experience with Product Engineering Data Science and Operations from signup and campaign creation to payments measurement support and trust.

• Align regional sales leaders around shared growth goals market plans enablement and coordinated customer engagement.

• Direct investment across markets and programs. Align budgets team capacity agency resources and global capabilities with growth opportunities and refine allocation as results emerge.

• Lead international performance reviews forecasting and growth initiatives with Sales Product and Finance. Use experimentation funnel insights and return on investment to improve results.

• Hire coach and develop the international SMB Ads marketing team. Establish clear goals and a culture of experimentation collaboration and accountability.

• Connect regional and local insights to global strategy. Establish planning and review rhythms that shape marketing product and operational roadmaps.

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Bring significant experience owning international business or growth targets with measurable customer and revenue results in SMB self-serve advertising SaaS marketplace commerce or fintech businesses.

• Demonstrate success hiring and developing marketing teams scaling across countries and leading collaboration among global regional and local teams.

• Balance global strategy with local customer needs prioritizing investment across markets segments and programs.

• Understand how to acquire activate educate and retain SMB customers at scale.

• Use funnel data market research customer insight and experiments to make clear decisions in evolving markets.

• Build trusted partnerships with regional sales and marketing leaders global specialist teams Product Engineering Partnerships Legal and Operations.

• Combine growth lifecycle content partner and field programs into effective market plans.

• Bring familiarity with advertiser acquisition campaign setup and education on platforms such as Google Ads Meta Ads TikTok for Business Amazon Ads Reddit or Snap.

• Translate strategy into execution launching programs evaluating results and scaling successful approaches.
