Infrastructure Consultant

We are seeking an Infrastructure Consultant to work in a hybrid environment with one of our public sector clients.

You will be responsible for the administration support maintenance and continuous improvement of the organisations Windows Server environment and associated infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring availability performance security and reliability while contributing to infrastructure improvements incident resolution and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise Windows Server environments across physical and virtual platforms.
• Support Active Directory DNS Group Policy Intune and associated Microsoft technologies.
• Manage patching upgrades and security remediation activities.
• Work with security and vulnerability management teams to address CVEs and security threats.
• Investigate and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 incidents.
• Support infrastructure projects migration activities and platform upgrades.
• Maintain backup disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• Produce technical documentation standards and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure security and application teams.

Qualifications :

Essential Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5 years experience in infrastructure engineering or consulting roles.
• Experience working with Windows Server environments.
• Experience with several of the following technologies:
  • VMware
  • Active Directory
  • Exchange
  • Citrix
  • Azure Administration
  • Nutanix
• Experience with datacentre operations including server installation and cabling.
• Experience with SCCM SCOM or similar management platforms.
• Experience in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
• Communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience supporting enterprise solutions through their service lifecycle.
• Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
• ITIL Foundation certification.

Desirable Experience

• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience delivering infrastructure services within public sector environments.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with security remediation and vulnerability management programmes.
