The Humanitarian Funding Advisor is an exciting role within a dynamic global humanitarian team. The roles primary focus is on supporting the accessing of humanitarian funding from a variety of humanitarian post holder will contribute toTrócairesoverall institutional funding strategy working closely with country teams and HQ staff toidentify position and pursue humanitarian funding opportunities for the achievement ofTrócairesstrategic opportunities will be particularly focused on Fragile and Conflict affected States (FCAS) with an emphasis on UN funding; START Network funding; and support to other Humanitarian Funding streams particularly to ECHO when relevant.
This role can be based in our Maynooth office or remotely from the UK.
To be consideredfor this role you must already hold the necessary legal permissions to work and live in this location. Regrettably we cannot offer work permit sponsorship or relocationassistancefor this role.

Role Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility for this position is support to country offices in securing Humanitarian Funding. This involves supporting positioning for opportunitiesengagementand coordination with teams on proposal development direct hands-on proposal writing.
- Contribution to continuously improving internal grant management systems alongside support to local partners. This includes supporting due diligence initiatives linked to fundingopportunities capacitybuilding ofTrócairestaff and partners to access and manage humanitarian funds. This includes supporting partners directly access funding where relevant.
- Directly develop and support any engagement plans for key humanitarian donors with an emphasis on UN & START Network while contributing to the wider Humanitarian funding engagement strategies both globally and with country offices.
- Contribution to wider Humanitarian Team and FCAS country initiatives including global and country level strategic planning with an emphasis on donor engagement.
- Represent the organisation in key external fora relevant to the role. This includes but is not limited to Caritas Internationalis; global UN fora; START Network global fora etc.
Requirements
EssentialRequirements
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience working in institutional funding inclusive of 2 years working on overseas humanitarian response.
- Qualifications: A relevant third level qualification or its equivalent.
- Technical/Professional skills:Existing knowledge of institutional funding mechanisms proposal development & grant management regulations for International Non-governmental organisations. Excellent proposal writing skills asevidencedbypreviousexamples of successful humanitarian funding proposals. Strong budgeting andfinancial managementunderstanding. Fluent English writing skills.
- Competencies:Demonstratespassion and enthusiasm for the mission mandatevisionand values ofTrócaire(leadership). Holds self-accountable for delivering onobjectives(organisation); commitment to performing own role to a high standard of performance (delivering results); proactively shares informationknowledgeandexpertise(personal).
- Qualities:Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams both at a global and country level.
Desirable Requirements:
- Working knowledge of Spanish or French (desirable only).
- Previousexperience working in a partnershiporganisaiton.
- Knowledge of START and ECHO application processes (raising alerts &eSingleform specifically)
