HGV Mechanic 55k+ (Kilkenny)

Our client a well-established commercial vehicle operation based in Kilkenny is currently seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their growing workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician with experience working on Scania or Volvo trucks to secure a long-term role with strong earning potential and excellent working conditions.

The role involves servicing diagnostics maintenance and repair of a modern fleet of HGVs and trailers ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer and RSA standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Diagnose mechanical electrical and hydraulic faults
• Complete engine gearbox brake suspension and transmission repairs
• Perform CVRT preparation and inspections
• Use diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems efficiently
• Maintain accurate job cards and service records
• Work safely and efficiently within a busy workshop environment

Requirements

• Qualified HGV / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
• Experience working on Scania or Volvo trucks preferred
• Strong diagnostics and fault-finding ability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full clean driving licence (HGV licence advantageous)
• Good communication and organisational skills
