Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment supporting both domestic and overseas candidates across hospitals nursing homes homecare and community care settings.

We are currently hiring Healthcare Assistants for leading nursing homes across Waterford Ireland.

This opportunity is open to EU citizens as well as candidates holding Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G permissions.

Please note: sponsorship is not available.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Support nursing staff in delivering high-quality person-centred care that meets the individual needs of residents.
  • Build positive relationships with residents by understanding their interests preferences and care requirements.
  • Assist residents with mobility and encourage independence while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Support residents with personal care and hygiene needs maintaining dignity privacy and respect at all times.
  • Monitor residents wellbeing and communicate any changes in condition or concerns to the nursing team.
  • Assist residents with eating drinking and maintaining physical comfort throughout the day.
  • Organise and participate in social recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance residents quality of life.
  • Foster effective communication between residents their families and the care team to promote positive relationships.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness hygiene and infection prevention within the home environment.
  • Contribute to health and safety practices and undertake any additional duties as required by the Nurse in Charge or management team.



Requirements
  • FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualification with relevant healthcare modules completed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents families and colleagues.
  • Strong listening skills and a compassionate approach to resident care.
  • Reliable professional and committed to maintaining high standards of care and conduct.
  • Ability to work independently using initiative and sound judgment when required.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to motivate and support residents in their daily activities.
  • Caring empathetic and resident-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
