Health and Safety Officer
Job Summary
We have an exciting Health & Safety Officer position to join our Pork manufacturing facility McCarren Meats in Cavan. This is a full time permanent position reporting to the Health & Safety Manager.
The Health & Safety Officer will play a vital role in coordinating administering and implementing a diverse array of health and safety projects and systems on-site. This exciting opportunity is perfect for individuals eager to contribute to a thriving environment while expanding their expertise and knowledge in the health and safety field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technicalsupport for H&S project coordinationmaintenanceand management.
- Assistin ongoing development and implementation of effective health and safety systemspoliciesand procedures on the site.
- Assistin enforcing the effective implementation of health and safety practices
- Facilitatesupportand advise the health and safety risk management teams on site.
- Train site personnel in a departments software applications that are vitalin order tofulfil their functions (Risk management applications and spreadsheets).
- Assist Site H&S Manager to undertake and review relevant assessments for operations on site.
- Liaising with safety personnelregardingsite accident incident and near misses reporting and investigations ensuring corrective and preventative actions are formulated and implemented.
- Accident Investigations gathering evidence such as documentation and photographs.
- Updateand upload accident investigations reports.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Ideally should hold a certificate or diploma in Safety and Health however this can also befacilitatedby the business
- 1yearspost qualification experience in safety and health ideally food and / or manufacturing environments.
- Ability toidentifycontinuous improvement initiatives and ability to challenge status quo.
- Strong IT sills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Excel PowerPointand other common software tools.
