What is the role
The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer supports the design development verification and transfer to manufacture of Aerogens aerosol drug delivery products across Hospital Homecare and Emergency Care applications. Working as part of the Mechanical Design Engineering team this role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical and professional skills while contributing to innovative medical device development under the guidance of experienced engineers.

What are the key responsibilities
Product Design & Development
Support the design development prototyping and testing of new and existing medical devices.
Produce 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles under the guidance of senior engineers.
Assist with tolerance analysis material selection and component development.

Product Verification & Testing
Support the development and execution of Design Verification (DV) testing.
Assist with test method development data analysis and reporting.
Contribute to design reviews and technical investigations.

Process Development & Manufacturing
Support the specification development and validation of manufacturing and test processes.
Assist with Design Transfer activities and manufacturing improvements.
Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to support product development.

Documentation & Communication
Prepare engineering documentation in accordance with Aerogens Quality Management System.
Produce clear technical reports presentations and design documentation.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Science Manufacturing Engineering Quality Regulatory and Supply Chain.
Undertake other duties as required by their Supervisor.

What education and experience are required
Bachelors degree (Level 8 minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

What key skills will make you great at the role
Technical
Knowledge of mechanical design principles and product development.
Experience with 3D CAD and 2D drawing software such as SolidWorks.
Exposure to FEA and/or CFD tools such as ANSYS would be an advantage.

Testing & Problem Solving
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn and apply engineering principles to solve technical challenges.
High attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Communication & Teamwork
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
