Human Resources Generalist (maternity cover/9 month fixed term contract)

POSITION SUMMARY

The role is responsible for providing practical professional and confidential Human Resources support across employee relations recruitment HR administration policy compliance and employee engagement. Working closely with managers supervisors employees and the leadership team the role supports the effective handling and resolution of HR matters including absence management disciplinary and grievance processes performance management occupational health referrals recruitment activity onboarding and employee records management. The role acts as a trusted HR partner by providing guidance aligned to company policies local employment requirements GDPR obligations and best practice standards while contributing to positive working relationships manager capability employee wellbeing and the smooth delivery of HR services across the business.

Employee Relations

  • Deliver practical HR advice and support to managers on employee relations matters including absence management discipline & and grievance processes employee engagement communications employee relations and performance management;
  • Participate in investigations and disciplinary meetings where appropriate ensuring accurate meeting notes are recorded and support Managers to operate to best practice standards.
  • Partner with assigned Managers as required regarding any breaches of Company policies and procedures.
  • Support conflict resolution and help maintain positive working relationships across teams.
  • Coordinate occupational health referrals and related follow-up actions.
  • Contribute to employee wellbeing and engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and coach your Operations stakeholders to operate to best practice standards. Hold development sessions to improve managers knowledge on recruitment skills employment law absence management performance management and engagement.
  • Create SOPs and template documentation for routine ER processes.

Recruitment

  • Co-ordinate all hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with all local laws and company policies and standards.
  • Partner with managers/supervisors with hiring/interview processes.
  • Create and maintain new hire files and required administration.
  • Plan and deliver Induction for new employees.
  • Train new hires on Human Resources processes programs policies information systems etc.

Compensation

  • Support processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures as necessary.

Administration

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of employee records files and information.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files.
  • Generate Human Resources data reports as required or as requested.
  • Serve as Human Resources subject matter expert and participate on project teams.
  • Provide any other administrative support that may be required.
  • Respond to questions requests and concerns from employees and management regarding company and Human Resources programs policies and guidelines.
  • Assist and support management and the leadership team with handling and resolving Human Resources issues.

Policies and Procedures

  • Review and update Policies & procedures as required.
  • Follow company and department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all HR information is managed confidentially and in accordance with GDPR guidelines;
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by DHR.

  • Talk with and listen to other employees to effectively exchange information.
  • Speak to all employees and stakeholders using clear appropriate and professional language.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders becoming a trusted partner.
  • Prepare and review reports and written documents with accuracy and in a timely manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EducationHigh school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent
Related Work ExperienceAt least 3 years of related work experience
Supervisory ExperienceNo supervisory experience is required
