About the role

This is a temporary 12-month contract position perfectly suited for a motivated individual looking to develop their finance career within an ambitious European Shared Service Centre. Reporting directly to a Statutory Compliance Team Leader the purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective support to the General Accounting Department and wider stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing and producing statutory audit files and financial statements supporting tax computations for our German business and maintaining excellent professional relationships with both internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

This is an on-site position based at our Cork facility in Cork Airport Business Park.

  • Responsible for managing and producing local statutory audit files and statutory financial statements for various European Avery Dennison companies including robust bridge reconciliations between US GAAP and German GAAP (HGB) & maintenance of excellent professional relationship with external statutory auditors.
  • Understand and support execution of tax computations in line with ASC740 for US GAAP including quarterly tax reporting and forecasting.
  • Month-end and Quarterly US GAAP reporting for assigned business units
  • Work with external tax advisors to ensure timely preparation and filing of annual tax returns including supporting ongoing tax audits.
  • Processing and analysis of financial data related to the General Accounting (GA) system and supporting the pension forecasting process for Germany.
  • Responsible for the delivery of excellent customer service through partnership with key business unit finance staff and management of outsourced month-end processes with Accenture contacts.

Required:

  • Qualified Accountant with a proven track record in business partnership Sarbanes Oxley experience and ERP systems experience.
  • High volume reconciliation experience along with technical competency in accounting processes and procedures.
  • Full fluency in English with a good attendance and timekeeping record.

Skills you need to succeed:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Excel and Word with the ability to work with large volumes of data.

Pay Transparency Statement

The salary range for this position is 42420 - 67872 EUR / year.

The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
