Join the Close Brothers Motor Finance Team where you will be leading the Motor Finance Ireland finance function in the Republic of Ireland and working closely with the Retail Finance Director and Motor UK Finance team to ensure alignment of financial control and financial performance objectives.

Working as part of the Motor Finance Ireland team our ideal team member you will be accountable for managing and developing a team of finance professionals at various stages of their careers ensuring that appropriate annual objectives are in place and that effective performance reviews are undertaken with excellent presentation and communication skills.

This role is designated as a PreApproval Controlled Function (PCF11) under the Central Bank of Irelands Fitness and Probity Regime.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the monthly review process for profit and loss accounts and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring compliance with Group standards and promoting best practice across the business.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial returns including interim and year-end reporting regulatory submissions tax returns and statutory accounts supported by robust controls and governance.
  • Drive the completion and maintenance of statutory accounts ensuring all reporting obligations remain up to date and aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development of detailed budgets aligned to the strategic plan ensuring financial information is accurately reflected within budgeting and forecasting systems.
  • Coordinate periodic forecasting and reforecasting activities working collaboratively with Executive Committee members and key stakeholders to agree assumptions relating to business volumes margins credit losses and operating costs.
  • Identify assess and communicate financial risks presenting clear insights and recommendations to the Risk and Compliance Committee and other senior stakeholders.
  • Provide meaningful financial analysis insight and commentary that supports informed decision-making constructive challenge and the achievement of business objectives.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear accessible messages for both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Lead develop and inspire a high-performing team fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where colleagues can grow contribute and succeed.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes controls systems and ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships across the business acting as a trusted partner and helping stakeholders understand the financial implications of key decisions.

Developing Our People: as a line manager you will be accountable for inspiring and motivating your team as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take duty for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • ACA ACCA CIMA or equivalent with a strong technical understanding of financial reporting controls and governance.
  • Previous experience operating at Board or Executive Committee level within a financial services environment with the ability to build credibility and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery alongside a deep understanding of financial control planning and analysis.
  • Excellent communication presentation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Proven experience leading coaching and developing high-performing teams fostering an inclusive culture where individuals can thrive and perform at their best.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Previous experience holding a PCF-11 designation or an equivalent regulated finance leadership role.
  • Experience working within the automotive finance asset finance or wider lending sector.
  • Experience operating within a publicly listed and highly regulated organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting organisational growth transformation or change programmes.
