Fabrication Technician I Doors

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is touse various hand tools and machines to cut fabricate and assemble architectural aluminum products.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricates doors and frames for aluminum extrusions using standard drawings and hand tools such as drills screwdrivers saws etc. as well as milling machines CNC machines for hardware preparations and configurations.
• Fabricates and installs clips and backup plates for the attachment hardware on the standard files.
• Comprehends and completes fabrication and assembly on a sequence of operations concerning Category 0/1/2/H hardware.
• Identifies and tags material with written symbol for assembly and inspection
• Performs all general production work as required.

At YKK AP America Inc. pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $17.40 to $19.61 depending on experience skills and qualifications.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• High School diploma/GED (minimum)
• Experience working with hand tools preferred
• Requires constant lifting in excess of 35-40 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for a minimum ten (10) hour period of time.
• Requires stooping bending and kneeling.
• Must have good communication and organizational skills.
• Be vigilant about safety
• Quality - conscious oriented to excellence

The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
