Job Summary

The Executive Litigation / Customer Debt Solutions is responsible for the day-to-day management and progression of mortgage litigation and repossession cases within a regulated credit servicing environment. The role holder will progress assigned cases through the legal recovery process work closely with panel solicitors and other third parties maintain accurate case records and ensure all activity is completed in line with applicable legislation Central Bank of Ireland requirements internal policies and procedures. The role supports fair and sustainable customer outcomes where possible while ensuring litigation cases are progressed efficiently and within agreed service levels.

How Youll Make an Impact

Reporting to the Manager Litigation / Customer Debt Solutions the role holder is responsible for the following:

  Manage an assigned portfolio of repossession and judgment litigation cases progressing cases in accordance with approved litigation strategies Policies Procedures Legal and Regulatory frameworks.

  Work closely with panel solicitors and other third parties to progress cases through the litigation process in a timely and effective manner responding to queries and providing instructions within delegated authority.

  Review case files and legal documentation to ensure required information is complete accurate and appropriate before litigation steps are progressed or approval is sought.

  Prepare accurate and comprehensive case papers recommendations and requests for approval for key steps in the litigation process.

  Monitor solicitor activity court dates undertakings judgments possession orders and other key milestones ensuring actions and follow-ups are completed within agreed timelines.

  Review legal invoices and supporting information and submit for approval ensuring fees and costs are accurately recorded on the relevant systems and accounts.

  Draft and issue correspondence to customers their representatives solicitors and other third parties in a professional clear and timely manner.

  Engage professionally and effectively with customers and third parties including in challenging arrears and litigation situations and escalate complex or sensitive matters where appropriate.

  Identify opportunities for sustainable resolution and arrears rehabilitation where appropriate working collaboratively with colleagues and relevant teams while recognising the status and requirements of the litigation process.

  Maintain complete accurate and up-to-date case notes litigation milestones and documentation on all relevant systems and trackers.

  Perform all assigned tasks in compliance with Policies Procedures Central Bank Codes and Regulations including relevant requirements under CCMA CPC AML GDPR and CCR.

  Complete all assigned tasks within SLA / KPI deadlines and contribute to the achievement of team performance quality and customer service objectives.

  Take ownership for any complaints received managing or escalating the matter in accordance with the complaints process and supporting a timely and appropriate customer outcome.

  Record incidents immediately on detection of issues or errors and engage with the relevant Risk Owner and management to support investigation and resolution where required.

  Participate in quality assurance reviews audits training and coaching and take appropriate action to address any findings or development needs.

  Actively participate in and contribute to team meetings and collaborate with other areas of the business to support portfolio strategies projects securitisations loan sales and other initiatives as required.

Expertise

  Good working knowledge of mortgage litigation and the Irish legal courts process including repossession and judgment litigation.

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers solicitors and other third parties.

  Good negotiation and financial-analysis skills with sound judgement and the ability to identify when matters require escalation.

  Excellent prioritisation organisation and time management skills.

  Strong knowledge of Regulations relevant to the role and an ability to apply Policies and Procedures     consistently.

  Results focused with a particular emphasis on quality accuracy and attention to detail.

  Pro-active and problem-solving approach to work; highly motivated with the ability to work on own   initiative.

  Ability to work effectively in a fast paced complex and deadline driven environment.

  Excellent teamwork skills working collaboratively with others to achieve goals and objectives.

  Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.

Experience:

  Previous financial services experience in a mortgage arrears non-performing loan or credit servicing environment.

  Previous experience managing or progressing mortgage litigation cases and working with solicitors and/or other legal service providers.

  Knowledge of the Irish legal courts system and relevant mortgage arrears and consumer protection      requirements.

  Experience of working to SLAs / KPIs and maintaining accurate case records in a regulated environment.


Qualifications :

QFA or APA (Loans) as a minimum.
