We are looking for a proactive driven and passionate Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to champion and strengthen our safety culture at our site in Clonee Co. Meath

In this key role you will help shape a safe healthy and sustainable working environment by ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety legislation company policies and industry best practices. Working closely with managers and employees across the business you will play a vital role in driving continuous improvement initiatives promoting employee wellbeing and embedding a culture where safety is everyones responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the companys Health & Safety Management System.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections audits and risk assessments.
  • Investigate accidents incidents near misses and unsafe conditions identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Assist in developing safe systems of work policies and procedures.
  • Deliver safety inductions toolbox talks and employee training programmes.

Environmental

  • Support compliance with environmental legislation permits and company standards.
  • Monitor waste management recycling programmes and environmental controls.
  • Assist in implementing environmental improvement initiatives and sustainability projects.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Track corrective and preventative actions to completion.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Prepare monthly EHS reports and KPI dashboards for management.


Requirements

Essential

  • Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety Environmental Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an EHS role within manufacturing construction engineering logistics or a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health safety and environmental legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full driving licence.

Desirable

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • IOSH Membership.
  • Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and environmental improvement programmes.
