Director of Nursing
Job Summary
Oversee overall operations and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
Maintain high-quality nursing and clinical standards; ensure best practices in resident care
Promote residents wellbeing through social engagement and person-centered activities
Manage admissions discharges and bed occupancy efficiently
Foster open communication and strong relationships with residents families
Lead mentor and support nursing and care staff; oversee recruitment training and performance management
Manage budgets resources and administrative operations effectively
Ensure a safe clean and comfortable environment for residents staff and visitors
- A registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- A postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management Gerontology Healthcare Leadership or Healthcare Management or willingness to undertake same
- Minimum 3 years experience in nursing older persons within the previous 6 years
- Minimum 3 years experience in a management capacity within the health and social care sector
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents family members multidisciplinary teams management and external agencies including Health Information and Quality Authority Health Service Executive and GPs
- Post-registration qualification in dementia care and gerontology is highly desirable
