Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to join our clients nursing home in Cork Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the nursing service and ensuring the delivery of high-quality safe and person-centred care to residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide effective clinical and professional leadership throughout the nursing home

  • Promote a person-centred approach to care ensuring residents individual needs preferences choices dignity and quality of life are prioritised

  • Lead and maintain effective clinical governance quality assurance and risk management systems within the home

  • Ensure the service operates in line with relevant legislation HIQA standards organisational policies and professional requirements

  • Oversee the development implementation and regular review of residents care plans and clinical records

  • Ensure residents changing care needs are appropriately assessed monitored documented and addressed

  • Drive continuous improvement through regular clinical audits quality improvement programmes action plans and review of outcomes

  • Lead the appropriate management and investigation of incidents complaints safeguarding concerns and other clinical or quality-related matters

  • Ensure learning from incidents and complaints is identified and incorporated into service improvements

  • Lead support and develop the nursing and care teams while promoting accountability teamwork engagement and professional standards

  • Assist with staff recruitment induction supervision performance management training and ongoing professional development



Requirements
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Director of Nursing or Person in Charge

  • Hold a post-registration management qualification in health or a related discipline or be willing to complete one within 3 years

  • Proven experience in strategic planning clinical leadership and service management

  • Comprehensive knowledge of HIQA standards regulations policies procedures and relevant guidelines

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team

  • Excellent communication organisational problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Strong financial budgetary administrative and resource-management skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality safe and person-centred care

  • Commitment to promoting residents dignity independence wellbeing choice and overall quality of life
