We are looking for a Digital Content Creator on a fixed-purpose (leave cover) contract basis. We also wish to create a panel for any future vacancies or to fill temporary gaps that may arise over the next two years.
Reporting to the Editor Social and Digital Native Content the Digital Content Creator in RTÉ News will be an enthusiastic multi-skilled individual who will create engaging and shareable content for use across RTÉ News social platforms.

About the job:
- ensure the best video is published on RTÉ News social platforms the RTÉ News App and website
- ensure our journalism reaches and resonates with audiences who consume their news on social
- contribute ideas and identify stories that matter to younger and under-served demographics
- source verify and secure permission for use of user-generated content when required
- work early mornings late hours and at weekends
About you:
- passion for social media to create and distribute impactful content adhering to RTÉs journalism guidelines and all relevant legislation and obligations associated with RTÉ News output
- experience in video editing with an understanding of how to create and re-version content across social and online platforms
- good news sense and an interest in news and current affairs
- familiarity with social media analytics
- effective research skills
- attention to detail with an understanding of the importance of good spelling and grammar
- track record of creating content that engages with young audiences will be an advantage
- work well within a team as well as independently
