The Design Coordinator (MMC) will report to and support the Senior Design Manager MMC in ensuring that a consistent high-quality design is delivered across Glenveaghs Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) portfolio with a particular focus on timber frame and light gauge steel frame systems. The role will act as a key interface between our timber frame manufacturer Nua and Glenveagh working across functions to improve standard and quality of MMC product design while also introducing efficiencies and driving standardisation.



Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will be qualified in Architecture or Engineering with post graduate experience preferably working with a developer contractor or MMC manufacturer on large residential projects
  • Experience with timber frame and/or light gauge steel frame design and detailing is highly desirable
  • A strong understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance relevant to MMC (including IS 440 Building Regulations TGD Part B and D) and an ability to review and comment on designs and track design team performance
  • Knowledge of offsite manufacturing processes and the interface between factory production and on-site installation
  • Highly motivated and positive outlook with the ability to work effectively across two organisations (Nua and Glenveagh)
  • AutoCAD/BIM/Revit experience is highly desirable
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and previous client interfacing experience to ensure a range of options is considered where appropriate and identify VE opportunities
  • An ability to work with and manage design teams and specialist subconsultants
  • Electronic document management system experience and experience of using Aconex is a distinct advantage

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate timber frame and light gauge steel frame design packages across Glenveagh projects
  • Maintain MMC specification and internal finish schedules aligned to exit strategies
  • Act as primary design liaison between project teams
  • Manage specialist consultants design input for MMC elements; facilitate workshops and agree timelines
  • Build stakeholder relationships from concept stage; manage expectations around MMC requirements through regular communication
  • Attend and minute design team meetings; track and follow up on MMC coordination actions
  • Ensure design information meets quality standards and aligns with project and production timescales
  • Review project documentation and coordinate with designers to resolve information gaps ahead of manufacturing
  • Benchmark MMC competitors and emerging offsite construction technologies
  • Coordinate cross-discipline compliance with project requirements company standards industry codes (including IS 440) and client criteria
  • Maintain design deliverables and planning compliance tracking logs
  • Promote standardised MMC systems and details across the Glenveagh portfolio
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting to the Senior Design Manager MMC
  • Undertake ad hoc duties as required
