Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced DBA / Database Architect to support the design optimisation and management of enterprise-grade database environments within a large-scale business-critical system.

Contractor Role - Initial 24 months plus potential extensions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain robust scalable database architectures
Manage database performance tuning and optimisation
Develop data models aligned to application and reporting requirements
Implement backup recovery and disaster recovery solutions
Ensure data integrity security and compliance
Support development teams with database design and query optimisation
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
Participate in system upgrades migrations and platform modernisation

Technical Skills

Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (essential)
Experience with Azure SQL / cloud-based database platforms (desirable)
Performance tuning and optimisation expertise
Backup/recovery strategies and high availability (AlwaysOn clustering)
Data modelling and database design
Scripting (T-SQL PowerShell desirable)

Soft Skills

Strong stakeholder communication
Ability to work in hybrid/on-site environments
Experience in large or regulated environments desirable
