Job Summary

Club Support Manager

Role and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Head of Clubs and Education the Club Support Manager will lead in the development and delivery of the annual Club Development Programme across the network of Swim Ireland clubs. They will encourage and promote good governance support Swim Ireland Clubs in providing structured programmes and resources to help them deliver in their day-to-day operations.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Club & Regional Support

Work closely with clubs and regions to support day-to-day volunteering and capacity building.

Provide guidance on best practice in volunteer management at club level.

Support clubs in managing governance compliance and volunteer-related matters.

Engage directly with volunteers through club visits events and communications channels.

Build strong relationships with regions clubs and key stakeholders.

Managing the annual club affiliation process.

  • Ensuring safeguarding of young people is prioritised in all support and development initiatives with clubs.

Programme Development and Delivery

The role holder will lead in the development and delivery of a comprehensive club development programme to include:

Identifying and developing new training opportunities and resources for clubs to ensure that we meet their needs.

Reviewing and updating policies resources templates etc. as required.

Creating an annual calendar of training events (online and face to face) to support clubs.

Setting clearly defined outcomes for programmes and direct reports including tangible measures of success.

Creating and managing use of evaluation and reporting tools for all programmes.

Managing annual club development budget in conjunction with the Head of Clubs and Education.

People Management & Leadership

Line manage and support Club Support Officers and Membership Administrator ensuring:

o Clear objectives and performance management.

o Ongoing coaching and development.

o Strong team culture and collaboration.

Act as a leader in volunteer engagement culture promoting a positive and inclusive environment.

Build capability across the organisation in working effectively with volunteers.

Support internal teams to integrate volunteers into programme delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

Develop and maintain relationships with:

Clubs and regional committees.

Sport Ireland and other NGBs.

External organisations supporting volunteering.

Promote volunteering opportunities through events campaigns and communications.

Represent Swim Ireland at sector networks and events.

Other Responsibilities

Ensure website and resources are updated with relevant volunteer information.

Respond to stakeholder queries in a timely manner.

Support events and competitions as required.

Collaborate across departments to deliver organisational objectives.

Undertaking additional duties as required.

Education & Experience

Relevant experience in volunteer management sports development or a similar role

Demonstrated people management experience (essential)

Experience working with volunteers clubs or community organisations

Experience developing or delivering programmes and training initiatives

Relevant third-level qualification or at least 5 years experience in a similar role.

Remuneration and Location

The package will include a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience commencing circa 40000 per annum.

Position Tenure: 3 year fixed-term full-time contract.

Position Location: Swim Ireland Head Office Irish Sport HQ Sport Ireland Campus Blanchardstown Dublin 15 with some hybrid working possible.

Appointment will be made subject to satisfactory:

Safeguarding and vetting requirements; and reference checks.
