Job Summary

- Coordinate and manage the delivery of the Urology Service overseeing the patient journey from initial consultation through pre-assessment treatment and discharge while collaborating closely with Consultants Nursing Staff Allied Health Professionals and support services.
- Communicate assessment findings treatment plans care programmes and recommendations effectively to the multidisciplinary team patients and other relevant stakeholders in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Investigate address and respond to patient and family complaints in a timely professional and compassionate manner ensuring concerns are managed in line with organisational guidelines.
- Contribute to the planning development and delivery of induction programmes clinical education training initiatives and professional development opportunities for nursing healthcare and support staff.
- Lead and coordinate specialist urology services including but not limited to bladder instillations urodynamic pressure flow studies uroflowmetry testing male and female catheterisation self-catheterisation training and lithotripsy services.
- Provide effective clinical leadership guidance and motivation to staff fostering a positive work environment strong team collaboration and high standards of patient care and service delivery.
- Must hold current R.G.N. (Registered General Nurse) registration.
- A minimum of five years post-registration nursing experience is required including at least one year of recent experience within a Urology setting.
- Previous management experience and/or a relevant management qualification is desirable.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal leadership communication and accountability skills.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) relevant to the role.

- Flexibility in working patterns is essential. While the roster will generally be scheduled over five days per week adaptability is required to meet service demands.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification in Urology Nursing or be actively undertaking and progressing towards completion of such a qualification.
