Responsibilities
- Manage patient care to ensure the highest professional standards using an evidence-based approach.
- Provide professional clinical and operational leadership within the theatre department.
- Oversee quality assurance and maintain high standards of clinical practice while ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Manage staffing levels support staff development and promote continuous professional learning.
- Coordinate assess plan implement and evaluate patient care in line with hospital standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols hospital policies and clinical best practices.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe effective and patient-centred care.
- Monitor clinical performance and drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Support effective communication with patients families and healthcare professionals.
- Promote a culture of excellence accountability and continuous improvement within the nursing team.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Annual NMBI registration maintained in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years of post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in the theatre specialty or a related clinical area.
- Demonstrated clinical managerial and administrative competence.
- Peri-operative nursing qualification (desirable).
- Postgraduate qualification or relevant professional education (desirable).
- Healthcare management qualification (desirable).
- Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (desirable).
- Preceptorship or mentoring experience (desirable).
