Job Summary

We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 - Surgical Ward in our Hospital in Cork Ireland.

(Full time Permanent)

Job Responsibilities

Provide strong clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the inpatient surgical ward.

Coordinate and manage ward activity staffing and resources to ensure safe and efficient patient care delivery.

Act as a role model by promoting a culture of professionalism accountability and evidence-based nursing practice.

Ensure high standards of patient safety quality of care and compliance with hospital policies and clinical guidelines.

Provide clinical expertise guidance and support to nursing and multidisciplinary teams.

Oversee patient care planning assessment and evaluation to ensure optimal outcomes.

Support and implement quality improvement initiatives and service development within the ward.

Manage staff performance development rostering and daily operational requirements.

Lead and support change management initiatives within the clinical area.

Ensure effective communication across all members of the healthcare team.

Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of ward services.

Requirements

Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

Minimum of 5 years post-graduate acute care nursing experience is essential.

Demonstrated experience in Orthopaedic procedures and inpatient surgical care.

Proven experience managing a busy surgical ward.

Minimum of 3 years experience in a nursing people management/leadership role.

Management qualification is preferable.

Strong leadership decision-making and change management skills.

Excellent organisational and time management abilities.

Strong knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and clinical governance.

Demonstrated commitment to patient safety quality improvement and service development.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and lead by example.
