Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the processing of raw material (aluminum) into an alloyed and casted product.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

• Prepares furnace for casting by checking molten metal temperature
• Maintains casting operations by stirring fluxing and skimming the furnace
• Uses spectrometer to analyze batch samples from furnace
• Determines necessity for alloy additions during casting
• Completes daily report forms and checklists
• Inspects equipment to ensure quality and efficient operations
• Removes product from cast pit performs weight checks marks products and transports by crane
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner
• Performs other related work that may be required

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• High School diploma/GED (minimum)
• Must have at least 5 years of manufacturing or industrial experience.
• Preferred experience operating forklifts and other manufacturing mobile equipment.
• Be vigilant about safety
• Quality - conscious oriented to excellence
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and techniques.
• Must have extensive knowledge and experience utilizing various hand tools.

Physical ability to perform the essential job functions in a hot environment

At YKK AP America Inc. pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $22.77-30.02 depending on experience skills and qualifications.

Travel required for this position is less than 1%.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
