Basic Grade Radiographer

Perform a wide range of radiographic examinations in accordance with the competency framework and departmental protocols.

Maintain consistently high standards of radiography patient care and professional practice.

Participate in the on-call service and provide radiographic support as required.

Adhere to all radiation protection principles including justification optimisation (ALARA) and dose limits in line with relevant legislation and EU directives.

Conduct daily equipment checks and quality assurance procedures promptly reporting any defects or safety concerns to the appropriate senior staff.

Recognise personal limitations and seek guidance or assistance from senior colleagues when required.

Follow instructions from the Radiology Services Manager Consultant Radiologist Clinical Specialists Senior Radiographers and established departmental protocols.

Keep up to date with current radiographic techniques and developments actively participate in training and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Maintain a clean safe and organised working environment while complying with infection control health and safety and confidentiality requirements.

Work collaboratively with colleagues participate in Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) provide compassionate patient-centred care and undertake other appropriate duties in line with the evolving needs of the Radiology Service.

Hold a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and be registered with CORU.

Previous post-qualification experience in a radiology department is desirable.

Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical information and draw valid conclusions.

Possess good mathematical skills and the ability to operate and work effectively with complex radiological equipment.

Have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to respond professionally to patients colleagues regulatory bodies and other stakeholders.
