This is an exciting opportunity for a Basic Grade Occupational Therapist to join our service to support children presenting with complex needs arising from a disability and their families.

The Occupational Therapist is a valuable member of the Childrens Disability Network Team who will provide a quality evidence-based service in line with Progressing Disability Services (PDS) principles including family-centred practice.

We have looking to recruit for positions working on our Childrens Disability Network Teams (CDNTs). St. Michaels House have 4 CDNTs located in Ballymun Coastal Coolock and Kilbarrack.

The successful candidate must have the following:

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or Masters in Occupational Therapy accredited to the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
  • Fully registered or registration in process with CORU.
  • Proven post qualification or final clinical placements experience working with children with complex needs arising from a disability.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work in a self directed manner.
  • Excellent ability to work with complex cases as part of a team.
  • Committed to the delivery of quality family-centred community-based services
  • Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) in the relevant area.

Desirable Criteria

  • Clinical experience of working with children with a variety of complex needs including ASD Intellectual Disability and Physical Disability.
  • Experience in supporting 24-hour postural management needs with a recognised seating/postural management course completed.
  • Experience in the implementation of sensory integration approaches with a recognised sensory integration course completed.
  • Previous experience related to Assessment of Need.
  • Full clean driving licence and use of a car

Salary scale : 45063 - 64424 LSI

  • Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above
