What You Will Achieve

As an Associate Analytical Scientist/Analytical Scientist in Analytical Research and Development you will play an important role in supporting drug development by applying a range of analytical methodologies to the development and manufacture of clinical drug this role you will use techniques such as chromatography and spectroscopy contribute to process analytical technology activities for clinical manufacturing and support method transfer activities into and out of the RCMF analytical lab. You will also work closely with cross-functional colleagues across Pfizer to deliver high-quality scientific outcomes.


Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory work to support analytical testing for pharmaceutical projects with using the following methodologies: chromatography KF spectroscopy particle size or mass spectrometry.
  • Support activities such as running analytical methods testing and release of raw materials and intermediates and documenting experimental results to advance pharmaceutical development.
  • Provide analytical development support during process development including method execution data interpretation and scientific input to support project progression.
  • Provide in-process control (IPC) support for plant operations.
  • Collaborate with project team members on activities including data presentation critical data review and preparation of technical reports.
  • Use a broad range of software and information systems effectively in support of analytical work.
  • Review and verify scientific experiments and data documented in electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues and leaders as part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic environment.
  • Bring strong attention to detail organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.

Qualifications

The level appointed will depend on the applicants experience. The Must-Have requirements reflect the Analytical Scientist role; applicants with less experience may be considered for the Associate Analytical Scientist role.


Associate Analytical Scientist - BSc with 1 years or MSc with 0 years of relevant analytical experience in a GMP lab environment or in an academic or industrial research lab.


Analytical Scientist - BSc with 4 years or MSc with 2 years of relevant analytical experience in a GMP lab environment or in an academic or industrial research lab.


Must-Have Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with general analytical techniques such as HPLC GC KF IR UV spectroscopy particle size or mass spectrometry.
  • Ability to work toward project milestones with general supervision while planning and managing priorities across assigned projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to support investigation of analytical issues and perform instrument troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with laboratory software and information systems such as electronic laboratory notebooks Empower and LIMS.
  • Ability to analyze data document results accurately in electronic laboratory notebooks and communicate findings clearly within a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including data presentation data visualization and technical report writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a GMP laboratory environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safe laboratory practices.
  • Strong documentation organizational interpersonal and communication skills with close attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
  • Flexibility to support shift work as required for the role.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Experience in analytical method development with a strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles to support process development activities.
  • Experience working in a GMP laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of vibrational spectroscopy techniques such as NIR IR Raman or UV-Vis.
  • Process Analytical Technology experience including PAT installation and set-up within a manufacturing facility.


Work Schedule and Travel

Travel is expected to be no more than 10%.

Flexibility to support shift work is important for this role.
