Job Summary

INTECH Process Automation is seeking a Seasoned Sr. Instrument Design Engineer to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for senior-level instrumentation and ICSS design assurance technical reviews and engineering coordination for new and brownfield projects. Ensure design deliverables calculations specifications interfaces and modifications are technically sound compliant constructible maintainable and properly reflected in as-built documentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead instrumentation and ICSS design engineering and technical reviews.
  • Review and approve P&IDs datasheets instrument indexes I/O lists loop diagrams hook-ups cable/JB schedules MTOs and specifications.
  • Review and approve instrument calculations sizing selection and engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with COMPANY standards project specifications applicable codes and engineering practices.
  • Review control philosophy C&E SIL SIS/ESD and F&G interfaces as applicable.
  • Lead brownfield surveys constructability reviews tie-ins modifications and MOC activities.
  • Review vendor technical documents data sheets drawings and engineering submissions.
  • Manage technical interfaces with ICSS Process Electrical Mechanical Civil Operations Procurement and Construction.
  • Resolve technical queries design discrepancies field issues and engineering conflicts.
  • Ensure designs address installation commissioning maintainability operability and lifecycle requirements.
  • Support procurement FAT/SAT construction loop checking commissioning and startup.
  • Review and control redlines as-built drawings design changes and final engineering documentation.
  • Monitor design quality progress deliverables and technical compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Instrument Engineers and Designers.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE quality document control MOC and project requirements.

Requirements:

To Be Successful in This Role You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Control Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent; relevant certification where applicable.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Oil & Gas or industrial projects including at least 5 years in a senior/lead instrumentation design role.
  • Advanced experience in instrumentation/ICSS design engineering assurance specifications and technical reviews.
  • Strong knowledge of P&IDs instrument datasheets I/O loop/hook-up drawings cable/JB schedules MTOs and calculations.
  • Experience with control philosophy C&E SIL/SIS ESD and F&G interfaces.
  • Strong vendor document review technical bid support and procurement experience.
  • Proven experience in brownfield modifications constructability MOC tie-ins and site surveys.
  • Knowledge of hazardous-area requirements instrumentation standards and Company/client engineering practices.
  • Experience supporting construction commissioning FAT/SAT and startup.
  • Strong technical leadership interface management problem-solving and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant instrumentation design engineering and document management systems.
