Job Summary
The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in overseeing daily branch operations ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures achieving business targets and delivering exceptional customer service. The role includes supervising branch staff managing operational activities supporting sales and business development initiatives and ensuring efficient and secure branch performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Branch Manager in managing daily branch operations and achieving business sales and customer service objectives.
- Supervise branch staff and ensure compliance with banking regulations internal policies and operational procedures.
- Monitor branch performance review operational reports and support productivity improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching guidance and performance feedback to employees and identify training needs.
- Handle customer escalations and ensure prompt resolution of complaints and service issues.
- Support business development activities acquire new customers and strengthen relationships with existing clients.
- Oversee account opening deposits withdrawals transfers cheque processing and other banking services.
- Ensure the accuracy of daily transactions reconciliations approvals and end-of-day controls.
- Monitor branch cash operations ATM cash replenishment and operational risk controls.
- Assist in budget planning target achievement and branch performance evaluation.
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding credit facilities operational requests audits and compliance requirements.
- Support branch inspections internal audits and implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure branch facilities security systems fire safety measures and customer areas are maintained to the highest standards.
- Act on behalf of the Branch Manager when required and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Finance Banking Business Administration or a related field.
- Proven experience in banking operations and branch management.
- Strong leadership customer service and relationship management skills.
- Good understanding of banking products compliance requirements and operational controls.
- Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve business targets.
Additional Information :
Preferred Experience
Experience in the banking or financial services sector.
Knowledge of data governance reconciliation and regulatory reporting requirements is a plus.
