Sr Security Specialist SA, Security and Compliance

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a security solutions architect to work with some of our largest Strategic customers. At AWS customer obsession is in our DNA. The successful candidate will become a trusted advisor to our customers and will work with AWS sales business development solutions architecture and product teams to develop the security and compliance expertise needed to deliver this vital role you will help customers achieve their business goals on AWS by identifying and tackling major security risk and compliance questions from stakeholders in areas such as Identity Data Protection Network Security and Generative AI. You will work directly with customer security engineering audit risk and compliance teams to help them understand how to confidently use AWS.

Key job responsibilities
-Work with AWS Strategic customers to convey cloud computing security compliance and risk management best practices
-Provide subject matter expertise on security topics including identity data protection network security and agent-based AI
-Design and Build working proof-of-concept architectures to tackle emerging security challenges
-Develop technical content such as white papers and reference architectures that can be used by our customers to assist them in deploying secure and compliant cloud-based solutions
-Provide mentorship across AWS sales and solutions architecture teams regarding Security and Identity to build skills in the field
-Work with customers to better understand compliance models in the cloud
-Represent AWS at trade events by delivering presentations and workshops

A day in the life
No two days look the same. You might start the morning reviewing a customers detection and response architecture mapping out how Security Hub and GuardDuty fit into their existing tooling and identifying gaps. Mid-morning you join a call with your paired seller to align on an account plan for an enterprise customer consolidating third-party security tooling onto AWS. You draft notes on a pattern youve seen across multiple customers that the product team should know about.
In the afternoon you run a workshop with a customers security engineering team walking through how to operationalize Security Hub findings at scale. You wrap the day reviewing a draft reference architecture for securing agentic workloads something you plan to publish as a blog post next month.
Through all of it youre doing the work directly. Youre the technical expert in the room and customers know it.

About the team
The teams mission is to accelerate customer adoption of AWS security services by pairing deep technical expertise with a commercial go-to-market motion alongside security services sellers. You will work closely with AWS Account Teams security strategy roles and AWS Partners to help customers build confident secure operations on AWS.
The customers you serve are navigating real complexity adopting generative AI rethinking identity and access models and keeping pace with a threat environment that evolves daily. This team exists to help them do all of that on AWS.

- 8 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking data & analytics) experience
- 3 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 12 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Experience with compliance & security standards including PCI DSS ISO 27001 HIPAA and NIST
- Demonstrated ability to architect and deliver security solutions in enterprise-class environments with complex architecture designs

- 6 years of infrastructure architecture database architecture and networking experience
- Experience communicating and delivering presentations to customers stakeholders and/or teammates
- Experience securing generative AI or agentic workloads or a strong point of view on how security models need to evolve for AI-native architectures
- Experience operationalizing infrastructure and application security controls at enterprise scale
- Deep knowledge of fundamental security principles and technologies including hands-on experience with AWS security services (Security Hub GuardDuty Inspector Detective IAM KMS etc.)
- AWS Security Specialty or Solutions Architect Professional certification
