Job Description L2 Database Administrator (Azure & Multi-DB)

Role Summary

Hiring an experienced L2 Database Administrator to manage and support enterprise databases across SQL Server Azure SQL Managed Instance MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB and CosmosDB.
The role requires strong hands-on expertise in operations automation migration and 24x7 production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage databases on:
  • SQL Server (Azure VMs HA/Always On)
  • Azure SQL Managed Instance
  • MySQL & PostgreSQL (Flexible Server)
  • MongoDB / CosmosDB
• Perform:
  • Backup Restore and DR drills
  • Index maintenance job automation performance tuning
  • Incident handling (P1/P2) RCA and permanent fixes
• Lead/support:
  • Migration from SQL Server (VM) SQL Managed Instance
  • Cross-platform DB operations
• Work on:
  • Automation using Ansible / scripting
  • AI-driven initiatives (Agentic AI DB automation AI agents)
• Monitor and optimize using:
  • Datadog SQL SentryOne Grafana
• Follow:
  • CAB/CMR processes SOPs audit and governance standards
• Provide 24x7 rotational shift support for production systems

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on in:
  • MSSQL (Azure VM Always On SQL MI)
  • MySQL PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB / CosmosDB
• Core expertise in:
  • Backup/Restore HA/DR
  • Performance tuning indexing
  • Incident management & RCA
• Tools:
  • Datadog / SQL SentryOne / Grafana
• Automation:
  • SQL Jobs scripting Ansible
• Good understanding of:
  • Azure ecosystem
  • DB migrations

Experience & Qualifications

• 4 8 years of DBA experience (L2/L2)
• Strong exposure to production support (24x7)
• Experience in multi-DB environments (must)
