Software Development Engineer, DSP Tech

DSP SafetyTech is a newly formed team serving as the intelligence layer between safety signals and decisions interpreting what happened routing it to who can act and ensuring no safety event goes unresolved. Today safety data is fragmented across seven systems with no single technical owner causing attribution errors reconciliation gaps and duplicated logic. Were changing that.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to help build a governed safety intelligence platform. You will contribute to three critical pillars: Safety Data as a Service (SDaaS) a governed serving layer consolidating telematics incidents and contextual enrichment; DSP Facing Mechanisms a unified configuration layer managing compound signals and business rules across DSP facing surfaces; and Advanced Analytics and Agentic Capabilities predictive models and AI agents that provide actionable safety insights.

Key job responsibilities
Design develop test and deploy software components for a governed data serving platform that consolidates telematics incident reports video evidence and contextual enrichment from multiple upstream systems
Build and maintain backend services and APIs that support a unified configuration layer where safety business rules are authored validated versioned and distributed
Develop frontend components for a consolidated safety dashboard a single view where signals scorecard outcomes alerts event video and interventions come together
Implement compound safety signals that combine individual data sources into higher order actionable safety indicators Write clean maintainable and well tested code following software engineering best practices
Participate in code reviews design discussions and operational excellence activities
Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to integrate data pipelines and model outputs into production services
Contribute to automated evidence preservation mechanisms to address short video retention windows
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues participating in on call rotations to ensure system reliability
Work with cross functional teams including product managers stakeholders across investigations claims insurance and accountability to understand requirements and deliver solutions

A day in the life
You will be part of a team building the safety intelligence backbone for Amazons DSP ecosystem. Your day may involve writing and reviewing code for backend services building frontend features for the safety dashboard discussing design approaches with your team or debugging a production issue. You will collaborate closely with data engineers and data scientists to bring data driven capabilities to life. Youll participate in sprint planning stand ups and retrospectives contributing ideas to improve both the product and the development process. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow across the full stack from data pipelines to user facing experiences while working on a platform that scales across multiple countries.

About the team
DSP Safety Tech is a newly established team with a clear mission: convert every safety event into a clear trusted action for every DSP in every market every time. Our North Star is ensuring every safety signal reaches the people who can act on it with the context needed to make timely decisions so risks are identified earlier decisions are made consistently and every Delivery Associate goes home safely.

We operate at the intersection of data engineering applied science and product development serving stakeholders from investigators to insurance to DSP owners themselves. Were building from the ground up with a strong vision executive sponsorship and the freedom to innovate across the full stack from governed data pipelines to AI powered agentic experiences.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
