Shift Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee production activities during assigned shifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing manpower ensuring smooth production flow monitoring VMC machining operations coordinating shift activities and maintaining productivity quality and safety standards. The candidate should possess strong leadership abilities and hands-on experience in CNC/VMC manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Supervise and coordinate all production activities during assigned shifts.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per daily and monthly plans.
- Monitor machine utilization productivity and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with production planning teams to ensure timely execution of schedules.
- Minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted production flow.
Manpower Management
- Allocate manpower effectively based on production requirements.
- Monitor employee attendance discipline and shift performance.
- Provide guidance training and support to machine operators and technicians.
- Conduct shift handover meetings and communicate operational updates.
VMC Operations & Programming
- Verify VMC program accuracy before production commencement.
- Monitor Vertical Machining Center (VMC) operations and machining parameters.
- Coordinate with programming and quality teams to ensure process compliance.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and support corrective actions.
- Ensure proper tooling selection setup and maintenance.
Quality Control
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with quality inspectors for in-process and final inspections.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
- Monitor rejection rates and work towards continuous improvement.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe working environment across the shop floor.
- Conduct safety briefings and identify workplace hazards.
- Ensure compliance with operational and manufacturing standards.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily production reports and shift records.
- Monitor machine performance and downtime reports.
- Report production issues and improvement opportunities to management.
- Maintain records related to manpower productivity and quality metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Production Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Experience in CNC/VMC machining and manufacturing operations preferred.
- Knowledge of production planning and shop floor management.
- Understanding of machining processes tooling and production techniques.
Required Skills:
Qualification: Any Degree / ITI / Diploma Age: 2023 years or 3540 years Must own a two-wheeler with valid driving license Willingness to travel and relocate to other states
