Senior Software Developer Automotive Basic Software

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in embedded systems and automotive Basic Software to join our team. You will contribute to the development of next-generation embedded software platforms for highly networked and innovative automotive functions within an international and interdisciplinary environment.

What can you expect

• Be part of the team developing the platform and Basic Software including software architecture for complex automotive ECUs preferably Gateway ECUs.
• Design and develop scalable robust and efficient ECU Basic Software and platform components in compliance with relevant automotive standards.
• Work closely with teams across application software cybersecurity functional safety and integration.
• Collaborate with system engineers to define requirements for ECU platform software including diagnostics communication frameworks/stacks and system functions.
• Contribute to the software architecture technical design implementation and integration of embedded systems.
• Analyze complex technical issues perform root-cause analysis and drive effective solutions.
• Independently coordinate technical activities with stakeholders and contribute proactively to the evolution of the ECU platform.

What should you bring along

• University degree in Computer Science Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a comparable field or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong proficiency in C and solid knowledge of software development best practices.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with RTOS.
• Experience in developing layer-based Gateway ECU functionality.
• Strong understanding of data structures algorithms and software design with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong experience in developing and integrating Basic Software for embedded systems including hardware debugging.
• Experience in software architecture and technical design for embedded systems.
• Good knowledge of automotive technologies such as CAN LIN Ethernet TCP/IP SOME/IP SPI I/O handling Microcontrollers/SoCs.
• Strong understanding of embedded communication stacks and system-level software integration.
• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages is advantageous.
• A proactive mindset with creative ideas and openness to innovative software technologies for the mobility of the future.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Gateway ECU development and automotive communication architectures.
• Experience with functional safety (ISO 26262) and automotive cybersecurity concepts.
• Experience with Continuous Integration automated testing Agile and Test-Driven Development.
• Experience with Python/scripting and development automation.
• Experience in technical leadership architectural decision-making and collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.
