Job Summary
Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards of data platform reliability and performance Were looking for a skilled Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) to champion the stability availability and governance of our Snowflake data environments. This role applies cutting-edge Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to drive operational excellence through automation proactive monitoring and continuous improvement.
As a pivotal contributor at the P3 level youll take ownership of core platform responsibilities collaborate closely with data engineering and analytics teams and deepen your technical expertise across our data ecosystem. Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Operations & Reliability (Primary: Snowflake).
- Support day-to-day operations and reliability of Snowflake environments.
- Execute operational activities such as monitoring alert response access changes and configuration updates.
- Participate in on-call rotations incident response and post-incident reviews.
- Drive remediation actions identified through root cause analysis (RCA).
- Automation & Engineering.
- Contribute to automation for provisioning access management and operational tasks.
- Develop scripts or tooling using Python SQL or Bash.
- Follow established Infrastructure-as-Code and operational standards.
- Apply SRE concepts such as service health indicators and reliability metrics.
- Performance & Cost Awareness.
- Perform Snowflake query and workload performance analysis.
- Support warehouse sizing and usage optimization.
- Monitor usage and cost trends through dashboards and tooling.
- Identify and address performance or cost anomalies.
- Security Governance & Collaboration.
- Implement RBAC access controls and governance policies.
- Support audits reviews and operational documentation.
- Partner with analytics and data engineering teams to enable reliable platform usage.
- Secondary Skills: MongoDB.
- Support MongoDB operational activities including:
- Replica set health checks and troubleshooting
- Backup and restore operations
- Monitoring performance and alerting signals
- Participate in MongoDB-related incident response and reliability efforts.
- Build and apply MongoDB operational best practices.
- Support MongoDB operational activities including:
- Scope Ownership & Growth (P3 Signals).
- Executes work independently with ownership of Snowflake operational responsibilities.
- Builds cross-platform exposure through MongoDB support.
- Demonstrates continuous learning and readiness to take on broader responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 7 years of experience in database operations reliability engineering or data platforms.
- Hands-on experience supporting Snowflake in a production environment.
- Working knowledge of SQL and analytical query troubleshooting.
- Experience with scripting or automation using Python SQL or Bash.
- Strong operational mindset and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to MongoDB operations (replica sets backups monitoring).
- Familiarity with SRE concepts (monitoring incident management automation).
- Experience supporting data engineering or analytics teams.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure).
- Experience with relational databases is a plus.
